 The Artistic Skating World Championships 2021 is coming to Paraguay!

The Artistic Skating World Championships 2021 will take place from September 29 to October 9, 2021 after a year of waiting due to the current situation of COVID-19, according to the Paraguayan Skating Confederation (CPP).

“We are very happy to carry out this World Cup in Paraguay, we are expecting about 1,500 athletes from approximately 30 different countries,” said Lorena Veiluva, executive director of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and president of the Local Organizing Committee.

“For this 2021 edition, all protocols for national and international competitions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic will be strictly complied with”

During the year 2020, the International Skating Federation, World Skate, defined to postpone to 2021 all the world championships that were to take place in the season. This cancellation included the figure skating world championship that was awarded to Paraguay, and will be held in the city of Asunción.

This event was declared of sports, cultural and tourist interest by the National Secretariat of Sports (SND), National Secretariat of Culture (SNC) and the National Secretariat of Tourism (SENATUR).

The organizing committee of the event is made up of members of the National Sports Secretariat, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and the Paraguayan Skating Confederation.

Thus being the president of the Local Organizing Committee Lorena Veiluva, the general secretary Larissa Schaerer, the executive director, Sandra Gómez, the administrative director, Verónica Argūello and the sports director, Ricardo Degūeller.

ABOUT THE WORLD

The competition will take place the first two days on the track of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, which has the regulatory measures and all the comforts for the judges and athletes who will be in the competition.

Later it will continue in the magnificent coliseum of the National Sports Secretariat (SND).

Both locations have a fully equipped gym for athletes as well as physical warm-up areas, technical direction rooms, multipurpose rooms and conference rooms.
